My name is Ryan Medes and we own a 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser. We are a family of 4 and needed a good size SUV that is capable of being our family adventure/overland vehicle. This is the first 4x4 we have owned so taking it out on the trail was a bit nerve wracking. But outfitting with the Land Cruiser with DV8 parts has enhanced the vehicles capability and has given me more confidence to take it on moderately rated trails. Besides being a daily driver for school pickups and grocery runs, our main motivation is to be able to take our young boys on adventures for them to experience and appreciate the outdoors. While there are plenty of overlanding destinations in California, we plan to venture out of state to do more exploring in places like the PNW, Wyoming/Montana, Colorado, Moab, and all of the above. I have been taking our eldest son, who is now 3, with me on recent overlanding trips, but we have yet to overland as a family of 4. It will be a challenge, but that’s what brings us closer as a family and makes adventures…adventures.
